If yes, then you should apply for Truman Scholarship, which offers $30,000 for doing graduation in law or doctorate or masters degree in various fields like education, public health, international affairs, public policy and social work.

Truman Scholarship is administered by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation and it is provided to around 65 junior college students or third year seniors every year.

To become eligible for Truman Scholarship, an applicant must be designated by the delegated faculty, where the candidate is pursuing an undergraduate course. The candidate must possess at least 3.5 of GPA, enrolled for full time course and must be a US citizen. The contribution of candidate in social activities and his volunteer performance in constructive activities during the academics play vital role to get eligible of the scholarship. A person, who is eligible for Truman Scholarship, must devote three years to field of public service or else he has to return his scholarship back. The scholarship foundation looks for a candidate, who is a volunteer and has shown great passion towards the public services. An applicant must have taken active part in community service and recognized social problems very well.

Monetary compensation is not the only benefit of Truman Scholarship but Scholars can avail other important benefits as well. The achievers of this Scholarship get help for internship placement, career counseling, soft skills training and admission for graduate courses. Truman Scholars also get an opportunity to participate in programs like Public Service Law Conference, Truman Fellow Program and Truman Scholar Leadership Week. Many professional colleges offer some sort of funding and priority to the candidates whore are recognized as Truman Scholars. If any Truman Scholar takes part in United States Foreign Service Exam then he is exempted from the written section part of the Exam.
